MASTER CRAFTSMAN OF MARBLE INLAY WORK SHILP GURU AND NATIONAL AWARD WINNER
Profile of Artist:
Born in a family of artisans specializing in Jardozi (sewing with gold string), Rafiquddin was more inclined towards marble inlay work. As a young boy Rafiquddin was always fascinated by the marble inlay work. At the tender age of 10 he started learning the skill of this craft under the guidance of his able Guru the famous master craftsman Late Shri Nizamuddin. This training was not just for few years but he spent 15 years with him as a dedicated disciple. Now Rafiquddin proudly says that he has trained more than 100 youngsters in this craft.
He is also carving on marble at Dayal Bagh which is under construction at Agra. He felt honored when he gave demonstration in country like Germany. He has travelled abroad for his exhibitions and demonstration.
He creates magic by his gifted hands apart from working on buildings, he is also an expert in creating beautiful floral designs on furniture and show-pieces.
